This workshop will be Part 1 in a two-part series on The Basics of Southern Folk Medicine. Phyllis, a 4th-generation healer from Southern Appalachia, is one of the few remaining practitioners of this type of medicine. A combination of Native, African, and European folk traditions, Southern Folk Medicine is America’s only surviving traditional herbal lineage.
Phyllis will go over the frame-work of Southern Folk Medicine as well as some of the assessment tools used when working with a client.. She will discuss key southern plants and herbs as well as core principles of the tradition. It is sure to be an engaging and informative evening!
